Is it abstract or not?

It's always fun to walk up close to a great master's painting in a museum. With one's nose as close as the guards will permit, it appears abstract.

Walking back to the "accepted" viewing distance provides a view of a well-executed,
more realistic work.

I like to execute a painting in a manner that's not quite abstract or realistic (even at the proper distance). If I tell you this is a woodpile, you may see it?
Or you may not.
